Treach says his daughter Egypt Criss’s knockout loss led to a call that drew him into the fight business. Now he is set to appear at a Smack Fighting Championships card in November.

The Naughty By Nature rapper told the story on Drink Champs. The episode came out October 16. He said he had no role in putting together his daughter’s March fight against Jade Jones.

Treach recalled a call from promoter Damon Feldman after the bout. Feldman wanted to know how Egypt was doing. The two had known each other for years, he said. Feldman had tried to bring him into celebrity boxing before.

That call led to new talks about working together. Treach said they began with celebrity fights, then moved into the open-hand Smack format as well.

His next listed stop is Smack’s November 20 fight night at Harrah’s Philadelphia. The venue is in Chester, Pennsylvania. The event is set for 7 P.M. The poster bills him as a special guest. Justina Valentine and Chrisean Rock are the hosts.

Treach also described his dream match. He wants people to take a street dispute into the ring and leave it there.

His ties to Feldman were public well before this interview. The two appeared together on FOX 29 in May to discuss a celebrity boxing event.

Feldman spoke to AllHipHop in February about his fight plans. That interview is below.

Treach said Smack fighters can move and block shots. He described a bout with three one-minute rounds, rather than people standing still to trade slaps.

Jones knocked Egypt out in the second round in England on March 7. Treach blamed the people around his daughter, a dispute AllHipHop covered at the time.

Jones had won two Olympic gold medals. Her sport was taekwondo. That was her boxing debut. MMA Fighting reported the bout as an exhibition. It was Egypt’s first boxing bout, too.

Egypt later pushed back on the criticism. She said she made her own choices and stood by her team. The loss had not ended her plans to box.

Smack staged a fight night in September. Kimbo Slice Jr. and Crip Mac were on the card. Its TrillerTV listing paired open-hand bouts with standard boxing matches. It described one-minute Smack rounds.

The November sale page warns that the card and guest appearances can change.
