Mike Tyson revealed on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live that he delivered a handwritten pardon request letter from Diddy directly to President Trump, confirming his loyalty to his incarcerated friend despite the music mogul’s serious legal troubles.

The heavyweight boxing legend didn’t shy away from discussing how prosecutors pursued an aggressive strategy against Diddy, dusting off a century-old federal statute to build their case.

“They used a 110-year-old rule to get him,” Tyson explained to Cohen, referring to the Mann Act, a 1910 federal law that criminalizes transporting people across state lines for prostitution or immoral purposes.

Prosecutors leveraged this obscure statute to convict Diddy on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, though he was acquitted of the more serious sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

The strategy showcased how authorities reached back over a century to strengthen their prosecution.

During a phone conversation with the imprisoned mogul, Diddy made a specific request of the boxing icon.

“He wanted me to give a letter to the president,” Tyson shared, and when pressed about whether he actually delivered it, he confirmed without hesitation.

“I did what he told me to do, yeah,” he said matter-of-factly.

The letter was Diddy’s personal plea for presidential clemency, a last-ditch effort to overturn his conviction.

However, the delivery didn’t result in the outcome Diddy hoped for.

In January 2026, President Trump confirmed he’d received the pardon request but flatly rejected it, citing Diddy’s past criticism during his first term and calling him “half-innocent.”

Despite Tyson’s efforts to help his friend, Diddy remains incarcerated at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, serving a 50-month sentence handed down on October 3, 2025, along with a $500,000 fine and five years of supervised release.

Diddy’s situation has only worsened since his conviction.

His release date was recently pushed back from January 21, 2028, to March 2, 2028, after reports surfaced that he was receiving special treatment inside prison, including inmates cooking and cleaning for him, providing massages, and smuggling in contraband alcohol and cellphones.

Diddy also faces over 70 civil lawsuits nationwide, ensuring his legal battles will continue long after his release.
