Remy Ma turned a viral freestyle into a legal headache thanks to Papoose. Brother man has allegedly demanded a new song from his ex-wife to be be removed from the whole internet.
It is hard to believe this is still going on like this and once upon a time they were preaching “Black Love.” The estranged couple’s conflict is now in the attorney-phase, since Remy released “W.Y.F.L.” or Why You F#cking Lying.” She went at Papoose over allegations involving ghostwriting, their intimate relationship and, of course his love affair with boxing champion Claressa Shields. I have not even heard it, but she is definitely going hard publicly.
Yes, Remy performed it at Angie Martinez’s BBQ and it went crazy in Staten Island. Papoose’s legal team went to work. Attorney Shelley Albert reportedly sent a cease and desist letter dated to Remy’s attorney, Diane Bowman, as part of the divorce proceedings between Willie Shamele Mackie, Papoose’s legal name, and Reminisce Mackie.
The letter accused Remy of releasing a recording containing “profane, insulting, and highly negative remarks” about Papoose. The legal doc says this recording was intended to embarrass him to the public.
Papoose’s attorneys demanded that the freestyle be removed from the internet. I am not certain that is even possible at this point. But I suppose they can have the original source take it down.
The attorneys for both sides havereportedly been working toward non-disparagement agreements and Remy and Papoose cannot speak ill of each another while their divorce remains unresolved. What about afterwards?
Papoose’s camp also raised concerns about their young daughter they share. His attorneys argued that airing their personal conflict could potentially cause her emotional harm. There is more.
“W.Y.F.L.” also fired shots at Claressa. Now the have all been saying stuff in the media, social media and things of that nature. But this song seems to be a tipping point. Papoose chose not to diss her back. That is a good move. The streets have not necessarily agreed with this, because they want a bloodbath. I think this is the best way. They are Hip-Hop’s Kramer vs Kramer at this point.
