Chris Brown can’t catch a break from the judge overseeing his financial obligations to the woman he hurt.
A Los Angeles court just rejected his attempt to buy more time before handing over detailed records of every dollar flowing into his accounts, and the decision signals the judge isn’t interested in giving him any wiggle room on this case.
The singer tried to get an extra month to compile information about his sources of income, but the judge shut that down immediately.
According to TMZ, the court ordered him to produce specifics about his concert payments, appearance fees, merchandise revenue, and even YouTube earnings.
He’s got to show it all to Maria Avila, the former housekeeper who won a $13 million judgment against him back in June after a jury found him liable for a brutal dog attack that left her permanently scarred.
The attack happened in December 2020 at his Tarzana home when a 200-pound Caucasian Shepherd named Hades mauled her while she was taking out trash.
The dog tore away significant portions of her skin, leaving her with facial disfigurement, visible scarring, partial vision loss, and nerve damage that’ll stay with her for life.
Her sister witnessed the whole thing and got $885,000 for emotional distress, while her husband received $50,000. Brown claimed he’d warned Avila about the dogs, but the jury didn’t believe him and sided entirely with her.
Now that massive judgment is hanging over his head, the judge is making sure Avila gets paid from his most lucrative income stream. The Usher tour has already pulled in over $100 million, and the tour continues through December 11 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
Brown’s trying to shield his earnings, but the court isn’t having it. Every dollar from every show, every sponsorship deal, every piece of merch sold with his name on it is now fair game for collection.
