Chrisean Rock faces a judge’s decision on whether to grant a $250,000 default judgment after refusing to show up in court and defend herself against assault allegations.

The rapper’s absence from legal proceedings has left her conduct completely unchallenged, and the plaintiff’s testimony about the emotional devastation from the attack is now front and center in the case.

Irby Lashala, who worked as Chrisean Rock’s stylist, testified that the assault captured on video continues to haunt her daily, according to MyNewsLA.

“I was violently assaulted by a well-known celebrity and that assault was captured on video that continues to circulate across the internet to this day,” Irby said in court filings.

“Knowing that strangers can watch one of the most terrifying and humiliating moments of my life at any time has been emotionally shattering.”

The ongoing public exposure of the alleged assault has “magnified my suffering in a way that words can hardly capture,” she added.

Every time Irby sees or hears about the video, or even thinks it’s still being viewed, she’s forced to relive the trauma all over again.

The incident occurred at a Baddies West premiere party hosted by Zeus Networks on January 22, 2023.

Irby said the meeting with Rock started cordially as they discussed their prior working relationship.

After that conversation ended, Irby turned to walk away. “Suddenly and without warning, (Rock) physically assaulted me with such force that I suffered severe injuries and damage,” Irby stated in her legal documents.

Irby is seeking $250,000 in damages from Rock, a figure she says “reflects the severity of the injuries I suffered at (Rock’s) hands, the overwhelming pain and suffering she caused me and the malicious and unprovoked nature of her brutal attack.”

The lawsuit also accuses Rock of assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

The judge is currently considering whether to grant Irby’s motion for the $250,000 default judgment.
